Navy Exchange Benefits

By choosing to work for the NEXCOM Enterprise, you will enjoy one of the best benefit packages available anywhere. Benefits described apply to full-time and part-time regular associates. Flexible associates are not eligible for these benefits.

LEAVE

Associates begin to earn leave on their first day.

Annual Leave - 13 days per year during the first 3 years of service, 20 days per year after 3-15 years of service, 26 days per year after 15+ years of service.

Sick Leave - You earn 13 days per year with unlimited carry over year-to-year. All unused sick leave at retirement adds to your retirement plan income.

HOLIDAYS

Associates receive up to 10 paid holidays each year.

HEALTH INSURANCE

Enjoy comprehensive medical, dental, and vision care coverage for yourself and your family members including children to age 26 in a managed care setting. Key features of our medical plan include preventive care at 100%, low physician and prescription drug co-pays, and liberal hospital expense benefits. The dental portion of our health insurance plan also covers preventive care at 100%.

At some locations, you also have the option of enrolling in a Health Maintenance Organization for medical coverage.

BASIC LIFE INSURANCE (Regular Full-Time Only)

Term life insurance is equal to one times your annual salary rounded to the next $1,000 plus $2,000. This plan also provides Free Post Retirement coverage after 15 years of participation. There is no cash value.

OPTIONAL LIFE INSURANCE (Regular Full-Time and Regular Part-time)

If you enroll in the Basic Plan, or are a part-time associate, you may elect optional insurance from 1-3 times your annual salary. This item also provides some free post-retirement coverage after 15 years participation. There is no cash value.

DEPENDENT LIFE INSURANCE (Regular Full-Time Only)

Enrollment in the Basic Plan allows you to insure your spouse and eligible children at very low rates. There is no cash value.

SHORT TERM DISABILITY

This coverage is automatically provided to regular full-time associates at no cost.

If you are unable to work because of a non-occupational illness or injury and are approved, this plan provide replacement income of 60% of your basic monthly earnings.

LONG TERM DISABILITY

Associates who elect to participate in LTD will be required to contribute toward the cost of the plan.

FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT (Health and Dependent Care)

This plan allows you to set aside a portion of your salary in a special account. You can then use money to reimburse yourself for qualified Health care and /or dependent care expenses.

LONG TERM CARE (LTC)

With our LTC plan, you will be able to cover the cost of a stay in a nursing home, home health care, or an assisted living facility for yourself, a spouse, your parents, or parents-in-law.

PENSION PLAN

We are proud to offer a pension plan to help ensure your retirement years will be financially secure. You become vested in your retirement benefits after only five years of service. Benefits are based on your highest three years of earnings and length of participation in the Plan.

401K SAVINGS PLAN

The 401K Plan enables you to contribute a portion of your income on a pre-tax basis, reducing your income tax liability and maximizing your savings potential. NEXCOM provides a 50% match on the first 6% of your contributions. You have the choice of a variety of different investment vehicles.

CONTINUITY OF EMPLOYMENT

For military spouses, we offer the ability to move from base to base or store to store with no interruption in service. This means you can stay with the same organization and build your eligibility for pension even if your plans mean you are relocating. For military spouses, we offer up to one year of leave to assist you in finding the right position at your spouse’s new tour of duty. (Associates that are enrolled in benefits are able to continue in the plans as long as they make payments. Please contact your HR department for further information)
